Tomorrow, watch Japan's attempt to land their SLIM spacecraft on the moon! The livestream link is below, and the landing will be at approximately 10:20 am ET on Friday, January 19. If they succeed, they will be the fifth country (U.S., Soviet Union, China, India) to accomplish this feat!

The first 18 segments of the primary mirror of ESO's Extremely Large have arrived safely to !

Our engineers at Paranal Observatory checked that they hadn't suffered any damage during their 10000 km trip from France.

The ELT's 39-m mirror will be comprised of 798 of these segments, working together as a gigantic eye on the sky.

@skrishna Firstly, I was so happy to hear the positive update regarding your eyesight recently! Second, been enjoying the heck out of your book.

And now a question... Have you heard of any new Star Trek books, either Strange New Worlds or Discovery, in the pipeline? Feels like forever since that great SNW book and I'm so eager for more!

@MsHearthWitch First of all, thank you, and second -- there are some weird things going on with the license around the Trek books (and have been for a few years, which is why publishing has slowed). Basically I think between the Paramount/CBS merger and sale of Simon and Schuster, things are just a mess.
