the worst part of genocide is now. but the second worst part is after 20-30 years when sooo many assholes will say to your face "there was no genocide" and netanyahu gets turned into an inoffensive grandpa who gets gushing obituaries in big newspapers. people will try to make you feel like you're exaggerating the horror, this old crazy person, like you didn't SEE IT. like you didn't see the mass graves.

Following his trajectory, how he has managed to change for the worse over the years and bring the entire country —willfully— with him, is just astonishing.

He did not become what he is alone. He had so much help along the way.

In the end he will be considered a statesman, at the same level of Reagan and Thatcher (in the same league of monsters).

The media will talk about his impact in the Israeli society, and this genocide and his willful participation in it will be a puny footnote.

You can now buy a flame-throwing robot dog for under $10,000

Thermonator, the first "flamethrower-wielding robot dog," is completely legal in 48 US states.

JUST IN: Rep. Bennie Thompson (former chair of the Jan. 6 committee) has introduced legislation that would terminate Secret Service protection for, uh, anyone sentenced to a year or more in jail.

wtrmt,
@wtrmt@mastodon.social avatar

@GottaLaff if the Secret Service is protecting you in jail, the agents would need to be pretty good actors to keep the illusion of secrecy.

I wish I knew more about this project in San Luis Potosí, Mexico.
I suspect this is part of bus driver training.

I'm imagining the DMV making it a part of every driving test for your license. Some people learn best by experiencing the consequences of their actions from the victim's perspective.

Successive scenes of a person on a stationary exercise pedaling away as a bus zooms by very close to them in a controlled parking lot with cones environment. All of the 'bikers' shown shirk and lean away from the force and fear of a bus passing too closely.

wtrmt,
@wtrmt@mastodon.social avatar

We have this kind of training for the bus drivers and bikers in Santiago, usually on June third, “Global Bicycle Day”. It has great activities and prizes!

I found this article for you https://www.elmostrador.cl/generacion-m/2022/06/09/evento-reunira-a-ciclistas-y-conductores-de-bus-para-potenciar-convivencia-vial/

Just discovered Shadows of Doubt and it's already giving me major Obra Dinn feels. I could get really into this.

GPT summary: A 1980s lowpoly pixel art 3D world where you're the detective, using gadgets and wit to solve cases. Explore a fully simulated procedurally generated city, tailing citizens with their own lives. Break into places, gather evidence, and crack cases in an immersive experience. It's like living your own detective story!

@stroughtonsmith there’s something to be said when you stab reality with a red pin and begin to join those with red twine.
You should be able to go and plant said pins on the forehead of the alleged culprits, follow the crimson thread wherever it leads you.
Will there be enough battery?

@patrick_h_lauke@mastodon.social avatar

approximately 73.2553% of issues i've seen recently come from "we decided to keep our UI nice and clean by hiding shit in a tooltip!", followed by the crushing realisation of what it means to have an accessible tooltip

@patrick_h_lauke that’s what I thought: I stopped using tooltips long ago. That is a desktop centric interaction.
