tharper, 1 year ago @Jeremiah Do you want to host just yourself or are you trying to get a community server going?

Jeremiah, 1 year ago @tharper I’m helping a non-profit get a server setup for their members’ use. It has GCP credits, so using those.

Jeremiah, 1 year ago Why in the year of 2023 is IPv6 not enabled by default on GCP? Why? WHY?? And why is it 18 steps to enable? #IPv6 #GCP

Jeremiah, 1 year ago Update: I am giving up on getting an #IPv6 Mastodon instance setup on #GCP for now. There is no happy path, only broken documentation examples or load balancer termination (which doesn't work because of outbound requests).

evan, 1 year ago @Jeremiah that sucks! How much is the fault of Mastodon, and how much is the fault of GCP?

Jeremiah, 1 year ago @evan At this point, 100% GCP's fault. People have told me Mastodon supports IPv6, but I never got to the point of having a VM with it to test. GCP only announced IPv6 support in December, but it's still not ready even for the simplest of use cases apparently.
