@KashifShah Hey, you can also follow the group on Mastodon, just search for "@humanrights"

KashifShah,

@ernest ah wow, that is a super cool feature!

I'm thoroughly impressed with where things are at at this stage of development for kbin.social!

KashifShah,

@ernest Search on mastodon.sdf.org isn't finding it yet (seems like there's an internal system error on our end), but I'll keep on trying.

Looking for feedback?

@KashifShah Yes sure, I am looking for feedback. It's possible that the error is on my end, so I'll keep an eye on that. What are your impressions after registration and posting some content? Was there anything that was confusing for you?

KashifShah, (edited )

@ernest cool, finally got a second to reply.

  1. can now follow @humanrights , but, as of earlier this morning, no posts were appearing in the Mastodon iOS app. Will take a look again soon

  2. Phew, first impressions are nothing but excitement and positivity! It was a piece of cake to set up a new magazine and use the magazine panel. Love the + functionality in navbar. Nothing confusing yet, but will keep an eye on ease of use, going forward.

KashifShah,

@ernest

  1. on latest MC Linux, XFCE, Firefox: mouseover on list entries is doing a strange, quick little “twiddle” / “slightly shrink and re-expand” graohical artifact. That might be the only negative experience I’ve had yet.

  2. Love the fediverse integrations and thoughtfullness and cleanliness of the code (looked at one or two files 😌

  3. Will you add an issues list to GitHun in the future or is there an appropriate place inside kbin.social for feedback / discussion?

@KashifShah Hey, thanks for that :) I'm currently out of home, I'll take a closer look at it later. The main repository is on at https://codeberg.org/Kbin/kbin-core/issues

@KashifShah I located an issue with the connection to some instances. I'm still working on fixing it, but it should be getting better by the end of the week :)

Groups work a bit differently here:

  • If you or someone else adds something to the magazine, it will be announced by the group and appear for other users.
  • If someone from the /kbin instance posts something to the magazine, it will be announced by the group and appear for other users.
  • If someone from another platform (e.g. Mastodon) posts something with the content "@magazine", it will be announced by the group and appear for other users.

If any of the above cases still doesn't work, it may be due to the error I mentioned above.

All other posts are assigned to the magazine based on tags. This is a unique feature of /kbin that gathers content within the magazine. They will not be automatically announced by the group to avoid spam attacks. In the ActivityPub stage (Roadmap), there will be a feature where each group owner can boost any content from the magazine as a group, if they find it interesting.

Is what I wrote clear or does it require additional explanation? :)

KashifShah,

@ernest Clear as code ;)

Thanks for the explanation and for making/taking the time to work on kbin!
