I'm curious how the new federated / defederated alignments will impact us ...
If follows/followers are on a defederated instance will we no longer see their posts?
If one instance (1) defederates a different instance (2), will that change anything for people not on either instance (3) with follows/followers from both 1 & 2 ?
i'm curious about this, too. I guess, mostly i'm curious, is there any way something I post could end up on meta servers? like, via boosting etc? (I don't flatter myself, it's not like I'm boosted often. but just in case.)
I recently moved to smaller instance that pledged to #BlockMeta. but I still wonder if my data could end up in Meta's hands (something I wish to avoid). or maybe my posts are already in their hands, since Mastodon is (mostly?) public anyways. but prob not, bc I'm uninteresting, so why would Meta care about me?

I hear you. There's so much I don't fully understand, as a non-tech type person. Ha!
I'm not as worried about Meta, they have tons on me from my years on Facebook and Instagram 🤷♂️ I deleted both accounts some time ago, but I expect they still know more about me than even I do! 😉
My concern is being cut off from friends on either side of the "wall." 🤔
