@reiver have a look at the history of the dev behind lemmy. he's an unapologetic tankie. tha program got its' first burst of population from the chapotraphouse subreddit. when they were banned fom reddit the went to lemmy.

that, and general coding skills of developers, is why kbin is better.

the social noms you'renoticing might be from the reddit fujis that showed up a mnoth ago tho

(Well, at least for now. Until there is an additional Fediverse software that offers a similar enough UX.)

I was talking about both lemmy & kbin.

I do agree with you that the social-norms I am noticing on the threadiverse probably have been carried over from Reddit.

@reiver kbin is very recent tho, ernst only released it a few weeks ago, and most of its users are from lemmy instances

i'm one of them, including being a reddit fuji, and was witness to several conversations where people ar eattempting to throw off the bitterness and venom prevalent on reddit. the tankies aren't helping tho when they defederate fromeach other due to ideological differences (lemmy.ml and lemmygrad being traditional tankies defined by their bigotry vs. beehaw treating LGBT+ people like pets)
