Just in case racketeering seems to you like a new Musk behavior - he did the same with the Starlinks to Ukraine bait and switch. Get Pentagon, Europe and volunteers pay up for the terminals with promise bandwidth would be there as a promotional sponsorship, then threaten cutting off service unless someone paid honey for it.
@taylorlorenz so Musk's campaign to keep advertisers is basically sending round the heavies with baseball bats and hints about the customer's fire insurance.
@taylorlorenz The saddest part is that giant corporations won’t care, $1k is a pittance to them. All the small businesses, with their twitter handle on their all their marketing stuff, will be screwed by this.
@taylorlorenz i admit i'm probably stupid for not seeing why but i don't see why wouldn't they just fuck off from twitter/ex/whatever i mean it's not like there isn't at least 10 other hyper popular apps out there for promotion purposes
@taylorlorenz It genuinely seems as though Musk is trying to kill X/Twitter as quickly as possible, and my question is, "Why?" What does he gain from this? Surely there must be deeper ulterior motives and it would be interesting to understand those better.

Basically, if you're on the internet, already the most populous place for free speech on earth, and you feel the need to preach about free speech, then you're actually preaching for freedom to be racist, homophobic, antitrans, misogynistic etc
