    Yes, I hope he's alright. As angry as I've been at him for his role in destroying any semblance of two parties working together for a better nation, with the current Trump Cult in place, McConnell looks downright centrist.

    Forgive me for sounding like a broken record, but how on Earth are we supposed to believe we “can’t afford” paid family leave, universal pre-K, or climate action as politicians discuss increasing our annual defense budget to $886 billion?

    @emptywheel I spent a few hours last week reading some of Byrne's online "memoires" about his FBI shenanigans. They're wild. After writing long, twisty turny tales of FBI recruiters and "Deep State" plots, he always covers himself with claims he has no idea if any of what he's said is true because everyone is lying and can't be trusted. LOL

    Also, he reads a lot of spy thrillers.

    @emptywheel Cannon is just setting it up to aid Trump, IMO. She got the job to do that and she will do it, is my guess. She's Trump's backstop for Maralago crimes, which I suspect are ongoing because ... espionage?

    Until I see a fair trial happen, with a just verdict and sentence, I expect this case is a wash.

    I hope I'm wrong, but Trump is a master criminal escape artist.

    Which means Trump has been told that he may be sent to jail, without bail, pending trial.

    @tristansnell Doubtful he'll be sent to jail. Might be put on house arrest to stop him from fomenting violence at rallies, but also he'll just do it online. It's why he started his "campaign" 2 years in advance. Who's going to stop that vicious mouth?

    @wonderofscience When the Joro spiders hit Georgia a few years ago, we had a slew of huge webs on the exterior of our house and trees. One Joro took up residence outside a sunroom window. She was only a few inches away, so I could watch closely. They are beautifully colored, invasiveness notwithstanding.

    Fascinating watching her weave/unweave her web. They're so large you can see the silk being pulled from its "spinneret."

    Stop blaming strikes for economic damage. Strikes are a logical response to overreach and greed from corporations and the wealthy. If there is resulting economic damage, look to those who drove the workers to strike in the first instance.

    Aren't DOJ/FBI investigations supposed to be guarded from public exposure until there is an indictment? I know all these people in your report may be in the need-to-know loop, but here we all are reading about it from letters and leaked news reports.

    Does FBI only leak this stuff on Democrat politicians right before an election?
