@flexghost If the government wants to oppress someone, they’ll cut off his utilities and freeze his bank accounts. I have occasionally asked right-wingers how a gun will help that. Best answer I’ve gotten was “they can’t do that to all of us!”
@flexghost speaking as a former Christian, they've already lost their religion, but they did it to themselves. Whatever all this is, it's not Christianity. American evangelism is, in its practice, virtually divorced in every facet from what Jesus actually taught.
@flexghost People are leaving Christianity in droves because, regardless of denomination, the organizations are rife with blatant hypocrisy and corruption.
The drivel which pours (or emanates) from its leaders thoroughly demonstrates these organizations not only are willfully and purposefully choosing to stay stuck in the past, but profit from the social divisions and exclusivity.
No, not all of Christianity has devolved into this toxic anti-Christian mess. It's fair to point that out as well as religion itself isn't necessarily the problem, it's what people do with it.

Many of them ARE in our armed forces, law enforcements, and angencies.
Y’all need to realize most Christian Nationalists aren’t just Cletus’ with hunting rifles and pick up trucks. That it’s actually a well armed well funded movement by wealthy people, and has been making massive political gains in the last 3 years.

Oh no, Americans are becoming less religious every day, which means we’re losing our influence and are slowly becoming (GASP) a minority!! Better rile up the base so they will mow folks down with their guns while we use the shrinking political power we have left to gerrymander ourselves into permanent strangleholds before it’s too late!!!
@flexghost@CoachMark I mean, I'm from the UK so I don't have the culturally ingrained love of weaponry that the US has but, TBH, we all grew up running around playing 'army' kind of thing until around 9-10 years old.
(not that I'm saying Republicans have the mental age of a 9 year old. That would be a disservice against 9 year old)
