The Atlantic made it very clear recently that it's a conservative magazine whose real interest is sucking up to Charles Koch and other fat cats by hiring two prominent conservative writers to go along with the many others it already employs.
The MSM is conservative. The Republican party is reactionary. The MSM doesn't like the tone, but it likes the direction.

@mattsheffield I interpreted "borrowed" as "he definitely did it" and "faces accusations" as "she maybe did it". Interesting how different people read different implications here.
@mattsheffield The sad thing is, they may not even realize they did this. That's how far this has all gotten. It's seriously long past overdue for a lot of media organizations to take a long, hard look at themselves and what they've become.
@mattsheffield I’m sure it’s much more widespread in the Ivy League than anyone would care to admit. The landed gentry these places mint operate by entirely different rules than the poors.
@mattsheffield Can't decide what the distinguishing difference is here. Certainly not the nature of the actions. Was it the color of their skin, or the nature of the institutions they work for?
