well, having just watched Chris Hayes' spiel on MSNBC, I can say that I am NOT surprised by Mike Pence's wishy washy backbone in this situation....but, I remember that he finally called Dan Quayle who plainly told Pence he damn well better do his job (damn the torpedoes). I did note that Chris Hayes said "Vice President Biden" instead of Pence one time in his spiel. No kidding....so, all this does for me is confirm that Mike Pence was a limp dick all along; and afterwards as a candidate, he shied away from defaming trump. He was a timid little white haired mouse. I yield back my time.
Pence's testimony could have achieved the impeachment of Trump.
Instead, with his galling degree of ambition to be president himself, Pence allowed #KochNetwork to silence him by promising to fund a presidential run.
Pence knew what Trump planned & used his family as a human shield.
Trump's MAGA were going to hang Pence in front of his wife & daughter, and he STILL shields the billionaire donors who bought a coup.

Canadian conservatives are sabotaging our social systems also. They want to make liberals look bad. Our universal healthcare, our $10 a day daycare, public schools, ...they are like monsters smashing everything with a sledge hammer.

🧵 1/2 No. Ex: a senior had a bad fall & waited 7 hours for EMS to arrive, then over 12 to see a doctor. Heart attack? Good luck. The number of cardiac related deaths have jumped. ERs are being shut. Provincial Premiers are responsible for healthcare and the conservative ones are with holding funding (over a billion $ in my province) and are now funding private clinics and hospitals which charge 3 times more than public ones. 2/2 many doctors have moved stateside bc the pay , benefits &hours are better and less red tape needed to get paid.
ORs in public hospitals are not open 24 hrs a day so there is a backlog of surgeries, but you can go to a private hospital. One woman I know has breast cancer and had to wait 11 months just for a scan only to discover she has stage 4 cancer. Millions have no GP. Conservatives withholding federal funds and blaming The libs for the crisis. Never vote conservative.
@DrLex@TonyStark Maybe you missed where I said the money is there. The conservatives are sitting on it. The Federal government is the Liberal Party and they are angry because a large portion of the healthcare budget comes from Ottawa. " Own the libs" applies to countries besides the US.
Globally, the definition of a "conservative" has changed. I remember a time (before Reagan) when they did not destroy all social nets.

Money is always scarce and has to be budgeted. Social healthcare is an issue in every place in the world for a reason. Government programs usually prioritize bureaucracy and very little trickle down to the intended purpose of the program.

Now I can go to a private clinic or hospital for services using my provincial health insurance and paying a "copay". 1. many can't afford the co-pay. 2) my tax dollars (prov. insur.) is paying those private agencies *three times the amount that would be paid to our public healthcare system. How is this Not a deliberate attempt to crash universal healthcare.? The premier spent 20.3 million on ads blaming the feds for our healthcare problems.

The copay depends on what service you need. Insurance is tied to your work (not like the US, it travels with you when you change jobs). I don't pay for insurance any more bc I am a low income senior citizen.
@TonyStark Reminiscent of years ago when Ted Cruz voted against, and blocked a bill that would've seen a solid increase in care and funding for veterans, exclusively because it was a snub back back after something he had wanted to push had been shot down.
These are children masking as adults, controlling billions of dollars that affect the lives of hundreds of millions of people. Yet they won't do the objectively right thing, entirely out of spite.
@tmstreet@TonyStark well, in a moment of even more radical candor, a Republican was quoted saying that many Republicans wouldn’t vote to expand the CTC even with the giveaway to businesses, because that’s just not something they support. So this take at least tries to frame it as scheming evil rather than just - I don’t know - pointless evil?
