Hi everyone! So far, there have been two ProjMoon communities: here, and one for Limbus only. But the Limbus community is hosted on kbin dot social, which is crumbling more and more (currently the instance has not federated anything in close to a week, and about half of the requests return an error). The Limbus community is thus...
Browsing by new was great in the early days of the first Kbin expansion, right after the reddit migration. I got to see all sorts of posts from interesting communities. Things you wouldn't normally see browsing under 'Hot'. Eventually, as thread numbers increase, I found myself using 'Hot' almost exclusively because it delivered...
I forced myself to go back a little to Reddit recently. Because while I endorse and love the existence of the Fediverse, I can't in good conscience, tolerate the instability of it. Any other time I go somewhere, I'm met with a page that says KBin is working on resolving issues, then I go somewhere else and it's fine....
I thought of creating this magazine to help myself and potentially others, to see how moderating works in practice in kbin. If you feel like becoming a mod but hesitate, you can become one in the following magazine and try out the available features yourself:...
I really wish I could like Lemmy, but I'm not comfortable using it given the founders' rather... icky... personal views. Not hating if you can look the other way but I cannot.
It's a shame that #Kbin seems stagnant. Here's to hoping @ernest gets well and gets the backup he needs to excel.
While studying an ActivityPub scraper, I happened to discover a lot of fedi software that I was previously unfamiliar with. There's a lot of cool, weird, and concerning projects out there:
By default, all posts show up in search results on #PieFed, #Lemmy and #Kbin. But in a first for the threadverse, PieFed has just added some privacy features that Mastodon had for a long time – being searchable is now optional!...

Un-tick the “My posts appear in search results” checkbox in your settings and not only will your posts be hidden from the PieFed search on your instance, but on all other PieFed instances too (yes, it federates, but only to PieFed instances).
But wait, there’s more. Google will not add your profile or any of your posts to it’s index (because of the <meta name=”robots” content=”noindex”> tag used when rendering your posts) AND comments you made on other people’s posts won’t be indexed by Google either (because of the ).
So if you’re tired of living in a fishbowl, want a bit of privacy or would rather people can’t follow you around, PieFed is here for you.
For those that aren't jumping from Kbin to Lemmy with most of SquaredCircle, might I suggest subscribing to https://kbin.social/m/squaredcircle@lemmy.zip so at least we might see some of those conversations? It won't help those of us using the microblog function, but it's worth a shot to keep the conversations going.
I appreciate that earnest made a post yesterday, or maybe it was the day before, saying that he is not dead and hasn't given up on kbin. It's not on this magazine, so I'm not sure where it was since this seems to be the most appropriate one, but in any case....
I recently made a major update to my Improved Channel Select Menu userscript, which adds your subscribed magazines and liked collections to the channel select button in the header....
Incoming long-winded wall-o-text that could have probably been 3 sentences. Idk this is what you get for 99% of what I post being just fuckin' links I guess lol sorry....
Cross posting this over here because of the obvious federation delay. If you’re already here, feel free to leave your comments on this thread instead of waiting for the 12-24h delay on kbin, but feel free to comment there should you wish....
Is it gonna reach anywhere or die out like kbin and the way it is going i would say mbin ? They are also trying to dip toe in the microblogging platform as well and trying to use lemmy clients and that confuses me as they are promising some features lemmy doesn’t have so how would that and the microblogging part work out on...
Heads up that functional print community on kbin is probably dying because kbin developer disappeared. There’s a fork, called mbin, and the new community is fedia.io/m/functionalprint...

Welcome to SquaredCircle’s ‘Meme Monday’!...
Since no upvotes are possible, the 'Hot' and 'New' pages of Kbin should show the same content. That's kinda awesome
