To celebrate Aplatonic Visibility Day I tried painting a still life with apples.
I like the end result but the painting process was way more stressful then I imagined it to be. I guess round shapes are not as easy as they look. 😄
I like the color scheme though! It's almost exclusively painted with just three colors: A red (cadmium red), a yellow (lemon yellow PY3) and a blue (deep blue PB60).
Mystery apple with missing tag. I’m almost positive it is a zabergau reinette, but have only gotten 1 apple off it so far. I am tempted to graft a known zabergau scion onto it and compare. #grafting. #apples#orchard

This is us next week. At Beau Vista orchards the early apples (Tom Putt) and Dyer’s Perry pears are ready for harvesting and fermenting into TeePee Cider. Early this year due to ideal grow conditions from Spring onwards . Woodcut by Chris Wormell #orchards#perry#cider#apples#pears#wairarapa#aotearoaNZ
Three things I've learned about fruit as an adult:
The apple core is a lie. If you eat the apple like there wasn't any core, it'll taste just the same and you'll barely notice it (and even if you bite through the seeds, you have nothing to worry about unless you eat a metric shit-ton of apples every day).
Also: eating the whole apple (and the stem, although it's a bit hard to chew) is good for your microbiome.
