I get that #AI is super exciting and all, but I don't understand the push for it in every piece of software. The last thing I want is to have my #Mastodon feed filled with #ChatGPT generated content. LLMs can sound human, and can probably even fool a lot of us, but the appeal of social media (#forums included in that one) is talking to other PEOPLE with their own thoughts and opinions shaped by their lived experience. I think that's still cool and worth celebrating.
Occasionally, when I get some free time, I boot up #CounterStrike 1.6. I play the game not so I can kick ass (because I don't), and I don't play bots (because there's no point). I play because it's hilarious to get AWP'd from across the map by some 12 year old kid in another country.
