"Smiling Girl, a Courtesan, Holding an Obscene Image."
One of my favorite paintings, seen at St Louis Art Museum during a recent visit. Just love the expression on her face, and the humanity embodied in her presence. An oil painting on canvas by Gerard van Honthorst, created in 1625.
Carl Larsson's most famous works are those depicting his family and home in Sundborn, Sweden. His watercolors and illustrations, such as those in his books "Ett Hem" (A Home), "Larssons", and "At Solsidan", showcase a unique blend of detailed realism and an idealized, idyllic vision of family life.
Yesterday, I installed several brodalisque paintings at Artistry in Bloomington, MN for the Fibers and Figures exhibition! I’m thrilled to show my artwork with Laura Wennstrom May 24th - June 30th! The opening reception is June 6th from 6-8 pm. #brodalisque
