Hey @Unixbigot !
I wondered what that multi-microphone home assistant module was as per #EverythingOpen presentation? Went and installed #HomeAssistant didn't I? Can give it up any time I like...
Our team is going through the #EverythingOpen#survey feedback as part of our debrief process tonight, and we wanted to say a huge thank you to everyone who responded.
Your frank, open comments, and warm messages of thanks to our team and volunteers are very much appreciated - and will help with planning for Everything Open 2025.
Totally hooked on Professor @aquigley#keynote at #EverythingOpen today - it's all about #interfaces and #HCI - and about #sensors - and how they can be used for secondary purposes to those originally designed - and at the end of the day we are all #human - and this limits the attention we have for input.
Super interesting!
Paper references are on Prof Quigley's Google Scholar:
It’s a pity that the practicalities of solar panels and electric cars meant that—outside of those wacky ultralight ultrawide desert racing contraptions—solar powered cars can’t exist. Until we found out what Starlink is REALLY for. Deposit coin, and as many satellites as you can afford will deploy their little parasols and concentrate sunlight on your Tesolar SUV’s panel.
At #EverythingOpen I'm hearing about RR, (rr-project.org) a record-and-replay debugger for C and C++. Rather than trying to catch a bug as it happens, record everything the program does and then explore its behaviour retrospectively.
As people start (or continue) their journeys to #Gladstone for #EverythingOpen, we'd like to wish you all very safe travels - and we're super excited to welcome you to Central Queensland, and to our home town.
We'd love to hear about your travel journeys - the highs and lows - and we can't wait to see so many of you in person again.
Thank you for making long journeys, and we will do our very best to make it worth your while.
If you're interested or know anyone who is, email me (see "Contact" at https://www.olowe.co). Unfortunately I can't make it, but I can nominate someone else to go instead.
I am burning so many candle ends right now with RepRapMicron, the family Easter chaos, work, organizing the Trail's End competition, and presentation/packing/housesitter etc. for #everythingopen that I may explode in a fireball. It'll be good to get on the plane and let the conference rush take control!
#EverythingOpen is large financial outlay, even if our tickets are reasonably priced due to our generous #Sponsors and dedicated #volunteer organisers.
We now have an Online Only ticket option for just $79, reflecting the additional costs of providing a hybrid #conference, but we hope it makes Everything Open more affordable for more people.
Continuing our #EverythingOpen Schedule Highlights, we present Faisal Masood of #AWS who will talk about the #ML life-cycle of #data preparation, model #training, testing and deployment, and the role that #automation and #monitoring tools play.
Faisal shows you how to build a model workflow where all team members can collaborate to create a #CI and delivery pipeline for ML models.
In this #EverythingOpen talk, Research Engineer at #Audinate, Elton Shih, takes us on the journey of transitioning from #FreeRTOS to #Zephyr RTOS, covering strategic decisions, technical intricacies, and highlighting how Zephyr's openness aligns seamlessly with Audinate's vision for the next generation of converged audio visual solutions.
We're delighted to let you know that the #EverythingOpen Schedule is now available - and we're sure you'll agree there's some brilliant Speakers and Sessions in store!
