I should be working more on the next part of this fanfic, but instead I've posted the second part (not really a clear Part 2, because I veer off into a flashback that serves as a really good standalone story) on my Neocities site! I still need to make an actual index page for these...
@arcanaemia I feel like it’s getting more diverse and less pedantic and I’m really enjoying that, plus I feel like I had to rein myself in a bit stylistically when I originally wrote mine so I’m excited to see what I can do with a greater feeling of freedom to just make shit up.
I have added Spotify playlists to my fanfic site because that is just how I roll.
The one for the story itself is a new spinoff so it's still pretty short. The one for my OC pair is longer, and I apologize for the Creed song but I hope to make up for it with the THREE Hozier songs. I blame that damned Titan A.E. trailer for the Creed song.
Writeups.org (est. 1999) has thousands of detailed fictional character profiles. Chiefly from #comics (principally #dccomics and #marvelcomics), but with a large selection of #videogames, pulp novels, movies, etc. characters.
It is primarily a #TTRPG site. But it is often used by #fanfic folks, comics fans, gamers, #cosplay makers, or just to look at the pictures.

I just read a romance and I kept thinking it felt a little like fan fiction (no shade, I enjoy) but I couldn’t pick the fandom — until I checked GoodReads and ohhhh, it’s Roy Kent.
He’s here! He's there! He's every-f*cking-where!
(I even thought one of the side characters (not a coach) was a bit like Ted Lasso and still didn’t pick the grumpy hairy ex-footballer lead as Roy Kent!)
@Faintdreams I mean, actually, in a wibbly wobbly metaversey kind of way, I can see John and Mobius getting on really well, and being far more interesting than the two main characters.
I mean yes, Mobius and John are very complicated characters in, and of, themselves yes, but compared to Loki and Sherlock particularly those incarnations of Loki and Sherlock.. ha !
So yes they would probably get on but you and I have very different definitions of what makes a character interesting

I need to set up a section of my Neocities site for my fanfic too. This flashback story is a good standalone story that’s important to the larger “present-day” story I’m working on, but that story isn’t important to the flashback, so just having it as a chapter of the bigger story on AO3 is the best way I can think of to present it there but maybe not the best way overall.
Hammering out backstory details for an IDW1 OC who left Cybertron during the Exodus and figuring out which horrible shit happened before she left and what she was lucky enough to miss.
And now I'm thinking about the power of radical kindness in the Cybertronian refugee diaspora please send help before this becomes a dissertation

I didn't read up on the Silk route, history of Chinese monasteries to do with their martial arts, travelling distances by foot per day & try to find out about climate conditions around 1100s & similar from BOOKS just when considering writing personal Nasir-fic for Robin of Sherwood. Had already ofc studied the Crusades + assassins far b4 that. #NeedToKnow
I didn't think my wife's recent obsession with Clone Wars was gonna get that far, but she roped me into a chronological rewatch of the series today.
