Not a bad morning. Made the daily top 24 over at @RadioTFSC with 2018’s “L.A. Twilight,” from the album “Kerouac Pawn”.

And we’re in Episode 613 of The Basement Tapes with Nick & Bootsy with our February A-side, “Stasis.” Listen here https://www.mixcloud.com/Bootsyhambone/show-613-the-basement-tapes-with-nick-bootsy/

Hey, look what i found while digging through a pile of rusty tech artifacts at my local anachronism dump! It's what primitive 20th century people used to call a mixtape. Through careful analysis of the magnetic patterns encoded into the layer of ferric oxide on the tape surface, i was able to reconstruct the audio it contains. It's kinda noisy but the music is actually not too bad, i think. But then again, what the fuck do i know about this kind of ancient music anyway...

When most of my friends were spending their time listening to 00s indie rock, I spent a lot of mine listening to J Mascis and company and I don't regret a second of it

Anybody ever hear of Atomic Suplex from Croydon, UK? This album '14 Inches of Fist' is from 2015, and I'm just hearing it today for the first time. EVERY track is a ripper. This is a SOLID garage/punk record. I mean, damn! 🔥

I have set the March and April singles up at the Distributors and, as per the usual, have made them available at . Rather than two two track entities at $1 apiece, I thought, what the heck, and made it a $1 four song EP. Track 1: , track 2: ; track 3: ; and track 4: .

Big musical flavor drops by Pomegranate County and you take that to bank. Tell them sent you for maximum indifference.

I mentioned this album on Wednesday, but now that it's out and I just listened to all of it, I can confirm that 'The Future is the Pits' is a certified banger. SEVERAL times as I was listening, I was like, DAMN this is catchy! The WHOLE thing is.

If you like fun, raucous bluesy garage rock/punk, Australia's Sick Fizz are definitely for you. What an ALBUM. Another serious contender for my top 20 that I can't currently see something knocking off the list.

Got a good for this week. This band is called The Wylde Tryfles, from Bordeaux, France. They have a couple albums out already and a new one coming February 23 called Outta Tyme. It's some REALLY solid garage rock/punk. LOVE her voice.

I was going to wait until next Wednesday for Music Women Wednesday for this one, but I need to talk about this album right now.

'Precious Dream' by Hot Garbage came out today and I just finished listening to it. It's perfect. More than likely will make my top 20 this year unless 20 other amazing albums somehow surpass it. I doubt they will. Both Juliana and Alex Carlevaris sing, they're siblings. It's like psych, garage, post punk, shoegaze? But there's also some wild bluesy and dark country-ish vibes. It's amazing fuckin SONGWRITING is what it is. This is Hot Garbage's second album, now I gotta check out their first.

For this week's , check out this amazing sounding album 'Melt the Honey' that comes out Friday. The band is PACKS, aka Madeline Link.

These songs have such a cool, lo-fi feel- they reminds me of early Beck songs or maybe quieter Sonic Youth or Sebadoh songs, with Link's cool, unaffected voice and some great lyrics. It's folky and catchy as hell.

'Melt the Honey' comes out Jan 19 (Friday) and it's definitely a contender for my top favorites of this year. Listen/grab it here:

PAVEMENT
Quarantine The Past: Greatest Hits 1989-1999
2010 U.S. 2xLP pressing

Crooked Rain, Crooked Rain aside, this should be the only Pavement album anyone should ever need.

ALL the great Pavement songs are here, including “Unseen Power Of The Picket Fence”, their great contribution to the classic compilation No Alternative.
“Date With IKEA” is also here.
‘Nuff said.
