Ayman Rajab, a resident of western Jabalia, said that Israel’s increasing attacks on the city are decimating the civilian infrastructure while the world looks on.
“Israel’s focus is Jabalia now. Tanks and jets are wiping out residential districts as well as markets, shops, restaurants, everything. It is all happening before the one-eyed world,” Rajab, who has four children, told Reuters news agency. “Shame on the world."

Israeli tanks, bulldozers and armoured vehicles are all surrounding evacuation zones and evacuation centres, which are the UNRWA schools that have been turned into shelters for hundreds of displaced families from northern Gaza who are fleeing the horrors of the attacks.

Israel sent tanks into eastern Jabalia in the northern Gaza Strip early on Sunday, after a night of heavy aerial and ground bombardments, killing 19 people and wounding dozens of others, health officials said.
The Jabalia refugee camp was set up in 1948 to house Palestinians displaced after the Nakba or catastrophe, referring to the ethnic cleansing of Palestine in 1948. More than 750,000 Palestinians were forcefully displaced, leading up to the birth of Israel in 1948.
In the north of the Palestinian enclave, it was the Gaza Strip’s most populated refugee camp.

“Most of the injuries we see today are children and women. There are no facilities here… We have no electricity in the hospital. Our solar panel system, batteries have shut down. Now we have no light in the hospital and there is no oxygen to give patients.”
Dozens of people have been killed in Israeli attacks across Gaza, including journalist Bahaa Okasha, who died with his wife and son in an attack in the Jabalia refugee camp.

Noteworthy items from ISW's recap of 12/25 to 26 in the #Israel - #Hamas war:
• "Hamas and its allies seek to use the hostages as leverage to get Israel to leave the Gaza Strip and end the war on terms favorable to Hamas... [This] would be tantamount to Israel’s defeat in this war because it would preserve Hamas as a governing body and military force and provide Hamas safe haven to reconstitute itself and threaten Israel again in the future"
• "The IDF reported that one of #Hamas’ battalions used Indonesian Hospital in #Jabalia as a headquarters. The IDF said that its 551st Brigade searched the grounds of the Indonesian Hospital and discovered a Toyota Corolla belonging to the family of one of the Israeli hostages. The IDF reported that it found 'bloodstains' and 'RPG remains' in the vehicle, adding that the presence of the vehicle at the hospital connects the hospital to Hamas’ October 7 attack"
