I've been making videos for a while now and thought maybe it was time to spend a little time talking. About what? A little about me, the channel, where it's been and a little about where it's going.
If you don't know what I'm taking about: That's where I give you longer writing updates and snippets - and where you can comment on posts, even from Mastodon. (The wonders of the Fediverse.)
More and more I'm reading about Mastodon being "mean" and "condescending". These topics dont actually explain toward whom Mastodon is mean.
Now I want to make sure we're on the same page - you do know there's no algorithm here? You choose your hashtags, people, instances.
If you're surrounded by negativity, try to procees why and adapt your own behavior. I haven't witnessed a tiniest fragment of negativity compared to other social media.
The only one negative thing I saw is someone... / 1 🧵
... trying to go maliciously into some trans people defence against me because I commented on a sticker saying Disarm Cops, Arm Trans women or kids, can't really tell.
I blocked that person. Boom.
Seriously, if you're looking for a conflict, you'll find it. If not, you probably won't. Mastodon is very well designed.
I want your opinion (yes, you!)
I'm thinking, sometimes people need interactions because of reasons. I'm not talking about followers or re-toots, lets say replies and favs, something that makes us feel part and that someone else is reading us and care a little bit.
So, I'm thinking on a hashtag like #LetsTalk to signal that you want interactions and we agree on it, to share, to reply and write back.
I feel like it could be a positive thing.
