@dasbrueggeman It looks... messy. I've mainly avoided resin printers because of the cleanup and chemicals involved. But hey, I'm all for new and exciting printers! The "new" part here is the galvo though, right? The rest looks like existing tech. (Though to be fair I skimmed the video.)
At Culver’s and there’s a bunch of teenagers in the booth next to us who are clearly not from #Madison (yay WIAA state tournaments). They’re discussing visiting the “bad parts” of downtown…
@wgahnagl My wife, who is from one of the not nicest places in Southern California, absolutely scoffs at the idea that Madison has any bad neighborhoods.

Seventeen years ago when I moved to #Madison we celebrated #HippieChristmas. This dubious holiday was observed mid-August when downtown student focused leases ended; even those signed up for another year were out on the curb for at least 12 hours with their stuff. This led to a lot of furniture simply left on the curb becoming treasures for those unafraid of salvage.
The quality, but dated furniture that was once left on the curb has been replaced by particleboard crap.
Back when I commuted by bike it was easy to get 257-320 km in per week. Now I that I work from home, I have to remind myself to get on the bike.
That said I’ve done pretty well this year at getting in at least one 30 km ride each week. Whether chasing coffee, pizza, or beer – with or without friends – I love being on 2 wheels.
Since I started sharing videos of my bike rides with non-biking friends and families, the responses and observations I’ve received have been a real nice way to change the conversation away from the antagonism of the #WarOnCars or #OnlyCars mindset.
Today my father asked me why I take such indirect routes…”can’t you get there faster by just going down E Washington?” While I will ride in almost any traffic, including E Wash, it’s nice to explain what good infra looks and feels like. And have the opportunity to explain why it’s not safe or comfortable for most riders to use the bike lanes on arterials like E Wash
Maybe simple videos can help them ride a mile in my shoes.
