Today (March 2) in 1933, the original King Kong premiered in theaters.
That's over NINE decades of the KING! And he's more popular now than ever. There was recently an animated series, a video game, a new comic series is coming out, another TV series is on the way, there's the toys, and of course Godzilla x Kong premieres at the end of this month.
Long live King Kong, the Eighth Wonder of the World. May he reign forever 👑 🦍
I really enjoyed the show. The slow pacing was really great for the story they tried to tell.
I don't like the finale as much as I hoped but it's not terrible or even bad. Just some typical cliffhanger stuff that was unnecessary. A second season or another film in the #MonsterVerse would work without it.
I'm glad that #Godzilla had some screen time too. 💚 Best Monster.
Watching Godzilla vs. Kong one last time before it leaves Netflix on December 31. Not that I don't have it in other formats 😂 but why not. I dig Godzilla stuff across the board. I guess some people hate on the USA ones, but Kong is always my main draw in these. And this one has some GREAT Kong stuff in it.
New Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire trailer is out! Looks like the two are gonna hafta team up against Scar King. Killer stuff. Official poster below too!
First look at Kong from Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire (releases 2024!) and three more promo art pieces. One is a cool combined piece with the bloody handprint one I posted before in the center.
🦍 Taking place in the same universe as films such as Godzilla vs. Kong. John Goodman’s Bill Randa character from 2017’s Kong: Skull Island returns, which took place in the ‘70s.
💀 The clip linked above is back on Skull Island - a giant spider fights a new type of beast as Randa watches.
Full series synopsis:
“Following the thunderous battle between Godzilla and the Titans that leveled San Francisco and the shocking revelation that monsters are real, Monarch: Legacy of Monsters tracks two siblings following in their father’s footsteps to uncover their family’s connection to the secretive organization known as Monarch. Clues lead them into the world of monsters and ultimately down the rabbit hole to Army officer Lee Shaw, taking place in the 1950s and half a century later where Monarch is threatened by what Shaw knows. The dramatic saga — spanning three generations — reveals buried secrets and the ways that epic, earth-shattering events can reverberate through our lives.”
The cast is led by Kurt Russell and his son Wyatt Russell, who will be playing Lee Shaw in the show’s different eras.
More MonsterVerse news-- director Adam Wingard is returning for a sequel to 2021’s Godzilla vs. Kong titled Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire, due to hit theaters in 2024.

These days, Godzilla cannot be stopped. The monster's return to theaters under Legendary Entertainment put the kaiju on the map in 2015, and his influence has only grown since. With a new blockbuster in the works, Godzilla's team is eager to keep the monster front and center despite a bout of uncertainty in Hollywood. So what...

After the last edition of #MossysMovieRankings with the #MonsterVerse got pretty loud and a lot got destroyed, my wife and I decided to relax by re-watching the Ocean's Trilogy over the past few days. We enjoy re-watching these films because they're great for unwinding. So, let's start with the ranking.
So let's start with the #MonsterVerse. First, the order in which the films have been released so far:
2014 – #Godzilla
2017 – #Kong: Skull Island
2019 – Godzilla II: King of Monsters
2021 – Godzilla vs. Kong
As one of my guilty pleasures is movies with a lot of destruction, this series is a real treat. Moreover, the UHD Blu-rays, assuming you have the appropriate home theater equipment, are reference material, particularly the last installment.
