Very poor editorial judgement showing up in the #ThousandOaksAcorn, our local paper. They published this editorial from someone in Trabuco Canyon (Orange County). 114 miles and 2.5 hours from our community. Deliberate injection of right wing hate into the paper? #journalism#news#newspaper
@mrpieceofwork Definitions are not these folks strong points, it's more a generic string of terms they think will help them paint folks they don't like with a broad brush. They learned that skill in elementary school, LOL.
Hungary, 1976. Nothing nicer than reading the morning newspaper on a warm day. It's weird though how the over-the-top-of-the-glasses look always seems to appear like an admonishment of some sort!
What the #BBCPresenter scandal has really brought into sharp relief is how utterly debased and foul #TheSun#Newspaper is.
All of a sudden, lots of people who have suffered at the hands of the rag are outlining their own bad experiences. Public opinion does not seem to be going in the organ's favour, either.
The San Diego Union-Tribune #newspaper sold to Alden Global Capital, which tends to hollow out newspapers w/layoffs and cuts….not a good sign for local #journalism. Paper sold by LA Times owner.
I have to infer that the #Bezos#newspaper, #WashingtonPost, is getting out ahead of a truly terrible story about #GoodReads ... Corrupt reviews and bullying are a bad enough story to kill the platform, but still -- Reading this piece, I feel like there's something worse wriggling under the covers about to come crawling out. (Paywalled.)
@StuartDNeilson Indeed, I don’t disagree. But I still think that his ability to shape a response is very limited. It has to be driven by him, and I’m not convinced that he’s the leader to do it.
We are experiencing fascism, and widespread apathy and tolerance for violence from the majority. Garda leadership and politicians are distracting attention from the real problem.
This offer for the digital edition of the Toronto Star looks pretty good. Only $2 per month for 2 months -- then $19.99 per month for the rest of the year. Much cheaper than the $4 per paper issue.
The paper does a fair bit of investigative #journalism, so it's worth supporting to help keep investigative journalism alive (the #journalists can't do it for free, plus they need the legal protection a large newspaper can provide).
