"Thus, if this El Nino peak is as high as we project it will be ... [the] 1.5°C global warming level will have been reached, for all practical purposes. There will be no need to ruminate for 20 years about [this] as IPCC proposes. On the contrary, Earth’s enormous energy imbalance assures that global temperature will be rising still higher for the foreseeable future." #oopshttps://mailchi.mp/caa/el-nino-fizzles-planet-earth-sizzles-why?e=be8c725017

Thoughts and prayers (but no more carbonated soft drinks) for @lproven who has just posted this on The Register:
The new Raspberry Pi 5 – which, we can exclusively reveal today, does not cope well with having cola spilled over it so readers may not see a long-term test of the device
Ok I may have slightly over calculated the number of (i might add handmade) dumplings needed for tonight’s beef stew. For 2…. #oops#sorrynotsory#Dumplings
I’m listening to the audiobook There’s Someone Inside Your House, my car’s display makes it seem even MORE menacing 🙃 #horror#audiobooks#books#oops#ohmyyy
The "Blue Moon" was total false advertising.😀 It didn't turn blue🔵... maybe a little if you can get the lens flare just right. #astronomy#photography#oops
I'm not going to comment on a certain individual's rants against common decency when defined as "woke" by the American right as standing for anything other than that privileges rich, white Americans. Nope. Not going to comment at all.
my dad, just now (10 pm local): Happy almost late birthday.
my step mom, a min before that: Oh my God! My calendar was off a day. HAPPY HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!
i’m so amused :D #oops#StantonFamilyChats
Stream-battered red jasper cobble. The negative flake scars are most likely from stream transport since there is a lot of wear & damage.
No idea where I got this from. Would be nice slabbed for cabochons or beads.
Red jasper was a preferred material for beads & pendants all over the world. The Poverty Point culture in North America is known for their owl pendants & grasshopper beads. #rocks#archaeology
Just got a co-worker spooled up for a meeting that looked like it was at 9 AM today. We were both on the zoom call and nobody else was showing up... then we double-checked the invite and realized it was actually planned for 8/17. I had the wrong day highlighted on my calendar. #sigh#oops
