Lots of tiny common #froglets emerging from the #ponds at #WWTCastleEspie. These were no larger than 1cm.

We found three salamanders in the bottom of a waterlogged garden pot under our rhododendron not far from the pond. So we transferred them into the pond stream under the little wood bridge in the moss and rocks. ❤️ 🦎 #gardening#pondlife#PortAlberni#Salamander#amphibians

This is why I always wear closed-toed shoes when walking around our yard. This 6 ft. rat snake was after duck eggs in a nesting box. Luckily, all the ducklings hatched last week and had left the box.
We removed the snake and it slithered into the pond. (One of the many reasons I don’t set foot in the pond.)
