Photos and videos posted to Instagram show a few dozen protestors walking into the shipping company #ZIM ’s lobby and office space near #CoalHarbour and staging a “die-in” to demand a #ceasefire in the Israel #Hamas war.
At least the second protest in as many days was being held outside of the #LockheedMartin building at 2121 Crystal Drive today. The midday protest featured about ten demonstrators carrying #Palestinian flags, holding signs and conducting a “die-in” on the public sidewalk.
The action began shortly after 2:30 p.m. when hundreds of students and #CommunityMembers demonstrated in front of university President Robert Robbins’ office to #denounce the #violence in #Gaza .
Organizers said they're targeting #lawmakers offices both nationally and locally to continue to "apply pressure onto our elected officials."
"We chose #Senator#Stabenow 's office as our rally point because she has not supported the #Ceasefire Now Resolution, despite her #constituents calling and emailing daily to demand that she does," said organizers of Shut It Down for #Palestine on Thursday.
More than 350 UC SantaCruz #students & #supporters#blocked the #campus entrance at High & Bay streets Thursday morning, calling for people to “skip school and work, do not look away from the #genocide .” The west entrance was still open to traffic as of 1 p.m.
