My instance is back. I can upload pictures. But it still seems to be lost in the forest, like the dog in the picture. I can't boost toots I find on my other instance, lots of 500 errors. Hope it will be fixed soon.

Spot The Dog is on tour! Mabel is busy discovering the delights of the Dorset coast - she’s hoping for a nicely matured dinosaur bone! Can you spot her amongst the shingle?

Let’s kick things off with a bit of a twist on an old classic - it’s time to play Spot the Difference!

Clue: Spotting the difference will return you to business as usual with ‘Spot the Dog’!

Large puddle covering a mud track as it cuts through a hillside of heather and gorse. The blue sky with wisps of white cloud is reflected in the puddle. A black Labrador hides somewhere in the image.

Shiny new introduction incoming! ✨

Hi, I'm flower 👋 I'm in my 30s, I'm bisexual and gender is confusing so any pronouns go.

I don't watch a lot of movies or tv series, I prefer watching long form video essays, listening to podcasts and reading books: queer books, cozy murder mysteries, scifi, fantasy and non-fiction. I'm also into privacy and technology, so the list of people I follow is very eclectic 😉

As for hobbies, every now and then I play videogames but I'm not very good at them. On the other hand, I regularly wipe the floor with my friends at Scrabble and I have a lot of fun with tabletop games in general. I do some Postcrossing too and I knit and crochet, but I enjoy all forms of crafts and art.

I boost a lot of pictures of art, animals and nature and also jokes from my favourite accounts. Sometimes I try making dad jokes myself, because my love of puns is pun-limited 😆

I'm still learning about the Fediverse, I think it's a super cool concept and I'd love to see how it keeps evolving.
By the way, I'm not tagging anything in this post on purpose, this is just an update to the old intro so I can pin it on my profile 👍

Mabel’s thinking about writing a book. Working title options include: Subterfuge and the Art of Trees, Where’s the Wally?, Beagle in a Haystack (Mabel’s least favourite option given it requires a re-cast!). The premise of the book is to demonstrate the countless ways a tree can be used for camouflage and disguise. The reader has just one objective - to ‘Spot the Dog’.

The idea is barking mad, if you ask me.

Tall pine trees in morning sunlight. The forest floor is covered in patches of fern, some lit by dappled light that has made it through the tree canopy. A black Labrador hides somewhere in the image.
Mud track next to a forest of pine trees - the morning sunlight has cast shadows from the trees on to the track. A black Labrador hides somewhere in the image.
Mud track leading down a slope with a pine forest bathed in morning sunlight to the left of the track. The ground under the pine trees is dotted with clusters of ferns. A black Labrador hides somewhere in the image.

After only just posting yesterday’s ‘Spot the Dog’ we move seamlessly to today’s offering.
Our internet might be some time in the fixing so expect a fairly sporadic service until further notice. Mabel will use this time to finesse her hiding places and embrace the camouflage opportunities presented by the continuing spring growth…!
