[A general focus but very interesting and informative]
“James Morrison, head pilot and UAS ("Unmanned Aircraft System") lead at Ordnance Survey, discusses the use of drones in mapping and surveying. He shares examples of how drones were used to quickly assess landslips and update mapping in the Isle of Wight, as well as capture data for residential housing developments. James explains the different types of drones used by Ordnance Survey and their capabilities, including capturing imagery with centimeter-level accuracy…” #GIS#spatial#mapping#OSRapidMapping#engineeringgeology#remotsesensing#UAV#drone#survey#UK#England#UAS#aerial#usecase#efficiency#podcast @OS
Sold my DJI Mini 4 Pro and traded up (down?) for a DJI Air 2S. Pictures about the same or better. Video worse. But it's got that sweet sweet SDK support for 3rd party apps. :badabing:
Little bit scary but trying to put myself out there.
Feedback is welcome.
Logo is forthcoming, creative people taking creative time to get that bit done.
If you know anyone in Eastern Iowa or Western Illinois who needs to see on top of tall things, or doesn't want to wait for the next google maps satellite image update, let them know about me. Please and thank you!
Adani JV Just Exported Lethal Drones to Israel, Same Model Being Used in Genocide-Tainted Gaza War
The role of an Indian conglomerate in supplying drones – which are being used by the IDF for attacks in densely populated urban areas in Gaza – appears to fly in the face of the Modi government’s official position seeking a quick resolution to the conflict.
Another view of Sakonnet Point #Lighthouse, yesterday afternoon. I would have waited for a more dramatic moment of the sunset, but I only had a light jacket and no gloves, and wanted to warm up more than I wanted a better picture. So much for suffering for my art.
This might be a way to provide a pre-configured kali environment for users who insist on bringing Windows laptops to workshops.
I don't need a lot of extras, but my workshop currently runs best if the participant has a device providing DHCP. Also, I have USB wifi dongles that need drivers installed to complete a task in the #UAV communications module.
So maybe #Kali on #BeagleBone + RDP to handle those Windows users.
We've been struggling with a culture clash. Cyber guys usually bring their own laptops to conference workshops - often "burnables" that can be rebuilt afterwards. And they tend to be pretty self sufficient and self guided. Give them a target and tell them to go.
Not so much with the #UAV#UAS#drone audiences and engineers we want to engage. Cyber concepts, tools, and techniques are new to them, even when they are comfortable on Linux.
#NATO tests counter-#drone technology with industry partners
The misuse of unmanned aircraft systems (#UAS) has created new challenges for airspace security. It represents a significant and growing risk to NATO operations and day-to-day defence activity.
💙💛 The U.S. Agency for International Development on Thursday announced its delivery of nine autonomous drones to Ukraine’s Office of the Prosecutor General to document alleged Russian war crimes in the country.
“These will aid the Office of the Prosecutor General to document the more than 115,000 instances of destroyed civilian infrastructure, and evidence of human rights abuses on frontline communities and liberated territories,” USAID said in a written statement.
The drones were donated by a U.S. manufacturer Skydio and delivered to Ukraine by USAID to support accountability and documentation of war crimes, the agency said. Each drone is equipped with 4K cameras used to take photos and video.
💙💛 Russian T-64BV and T-72B tanks were destroyed near Maryinka, Donetsk region. According to the Russian military, the tanks were destroyed with the help of a Ukrainian UAV.
💙💛 The Ukrainian defense enterprise Ukrspecsystems showed a compact UAV reconnaissance MINI SHARK. A drone designed for quick and accurate intelligence gathering.
💙💛 In Berestove, Donetsk Oblast, the 8th Assault Battalion of the Ukrainian 10th Mountain Assault Brigade destroyed an abandoned Russian BMP-1 IFV by delivering a drone-dropped munition directly into the gunner's hatch.
