@mike_vlasman Also, that whole stretch of waterfront between Granville Island and Kits beach is sort of a desert, nowhere to get a coffee or a beer or a pair of sunglasses. Urban waterfronts should be busy. If nothing else, Sen̓áḵw will have retail and hospitality businesses.
@timbray There's a proposed retail/office/housing complex for the old brewery site right at Cornwall and Burrard, and the Lululemon site could be redeveloped once they move HQ. Right now, there's no place to get a coffee in Kits after 7 when the whole neighbourhood goes to sleep. Things are looking up.
Soo.... Tomorrow is my birthday and I have my usual payment links as well as my wish list. If anyone is feeling generous. It's mostly needed items but there's a few treats too 😁
After weeks and months of chanting for violence against Jews worldwide, and calls for "Long Live October 7th" and "Intifada", at the protests, an attack on a synagogue in Vancouver
Here's some footage of the Vancouver "Pro-Palestinian" protests. I put Pro-Palestinian in quotes because I don't think that calls for violence against Jews help the Palestinian cause. I think they merely perpetuate war.
It's also notable that the speaker is Khaled Barakat, a leader of Samidoun, an organization that is designated a terrorist organization in Germany.
I'd argue that calls for attacks on Jews is a form of terrorism, and this person should be arrested for inciting violence.
After dinner in #Vancouver we found another #icecream place at the harbor. Nice view, good ice cream, good company, good #pgconfdev conference. What else can I ask for?
