308 years ago today. Ormacleit Castle on South Uist, occupied for just seven years after taking seven to build. It is said to have burned down on the day of the Battle of Sheriffmuir, 13 November 1715, at which its laird was killed. We knew the day after the hill climb would be a write-off for me, so planned for that. Instead it’s screwed me for near enough three days. NO REGRETS! Today we drove to the beach at Seilebost.
