@BrodieOnLinux
I wholeheartedly agree with you on this (the message, not the title). It's why when I first wanted to donate to support Linux desktop I gave it to KDE cause I use/love KDE.
I wrote a post to encourage people to consider supporting projects they use. https://libresolutions.network/operations/bankroll/
You're standing and looking out over the water at the city skyline. Suddenly, a small spaceship lands near you. Then a slightly larger one. Then an even larger one. And then ...
One of the most fun videos I've seen on #YouTube in quite a while! This channel does great work!
Drives me nuts when people (e.g., in #YouTube videos on film study, etc.) refer to the classic "Parallax Montage" in "The Parallax View" (1974), as a "brainwashing sequence" and draw out discussion from there. It is NOT a brainwashing sequence, it is a TEST that the main character is undergoing, being shown to him to judge his body reactions -- that's why he's told to keep his hands on the armrests so that vitals can be measured. It has NOTHING to do with brainwashing!
I will note that it is an amazing sequence and absolutely draining to watch, though many of the images will not be familiar and so not necessarily impactful to younger viewers today.
I would like to record some game play footage from my XBOX to my M1 MacBook Air. I don’t need a webcam (no wants to see me 😀). I will add some subtitles to it later. I don’t need to stream.
@bazcurtis Are you wanting to record clips, or long game sessions?
If clips, I just use XB Capture, which now automatically uploads to OneDrive; and my Mac grabs it, and puts it in my editing folder for me to trim/convert…etc.
If you’re wanting to capture longer sessions you would need a capture card, and just run OBS to handle the recording. You don’t need to stream to use OBS.
@deanfx We have been doing some ship building and outpost decorating. We would like to record our creations and then add some lower thirds and publish to YouTube.

@lauren Dang, hadn't hit the stuff I was looking for yet. It has most certainly made DuckDuckGo/Bing almost useless, and Google nearly so (although using before:2022 seems to weed out the Google AI crud, for now)
