The European Commission proposed on Tuesday to block all profits from the sanctioned Russian sovereign assets in the EU into separate accounts, in the first step towards making use of them to finance Ukraine’s reconstruction.
The European Commission estimates there is around €200 billion of the Russian Central Bank reserves frozen in the EU.

FYI, unclaimed assets ($ &/or property) also escheats to the "state" in the US. This can occur whether the property owner is still alive (in the case of dormant savings & other financial accounts) or $ & real/personal property that is unclaimed for lack of a will &/or heirs.

The #trial stems from a lawsuit brought last year by #NYAG, #LetitiaJames, accusing #Trump & other defendants, including 2 of his adult sons & his companies, of fraudulently inflating the value of their assets to obtain favorable #loans & #insurance deals.
Before the trial, the judge, Arthur #Engoron, ruled that Trump & the other defendants were #liable for #fraud, & that the annual financial statements on which they listed their #assets were filled w/ examples of such #misconduct.
Trump continued to #attack#James, #Engoron & the trial itself in posts to his social media platform this morning.
He again suggested that the trial is an attempt to interfere w/ his presidential campaign & complained about the lack of a jury in the trial.
(It is long established that either are issues)
Trump won’t be in court today. He had no legal obligation to attend, & left yesterday, noticeably angry.

After the trial wrapped up yesterday, Trump aired his #grievances in a post on his social media platform, saying the trial is “unfair” & again suggesting it was an attempt to interfere w/his presidential campaign.
Last week, #Engoron denied Trump's motion to have the claims against him thrown out on statute of limitations, & Engoron issued partial #SummaryJudgment on some of the AG's allegations, including that #Trump & the #TrumpOrganization had made "persistent" false claims overstating the #value of their #assets in their #financial statements.
