On my way through Kumbartcho Sanctuary yesterday I caught sight of a Noisy Pitta just off the track, industriously rummaging away in the leaf litter. Super exciting, I’ve never seen one before!
Sadly I only had my phone with me so I don’t have great footage.
Russell is an unsung hero of #OpenSource in Australia - it's his diligence and hard work that has kept the books straight for Linux Aus and auspiced conferences for several years now 👋
A sunny day today, and while I took the chance to mow, the local magpie family decided it was time for some sunbaking
I was initially worried someone had baited them! But they were happy as clams alternating jumping on insects the mower was scaring up, and flopping down like jellyfish, relaxing in the sunshine...
Made the hike out to my favorite coffee shop before end of year, Hideout!

(Saw a Metro on Kingsford Smith Drive on Tuesday.)
Fudge. These storms sneaking up from the Gold Coast will undoubtedly hit Sandgate or Bracken Ridge just in time to stop me going to the pool in either place
I have just about finished my cassette tape digitisation project for SO, and now the kit is useless to me. I have an encoder, a walkman style cassette player, and the cables, either to lend or give to someone in #Brisbane who wants to do the same thing. Can post if you pay for it.
'Worst case scenario, we close': The cost of gentrification for West End's small traders (www.abc.net.au)
West End used to be populated by thespians and proletariats, but locals say gentrification has priced them out.
Landlords around the world, you need a Brisbane Property Agent, This is Why
_Real estate agent has broken into my rental twice with a group of people without giving notice. I have PTSD and this is giving me flashbacks...
