@cobalt. Thank goodness #Biden hasn't given up. As you point out, though, the need is tremendous, and not supporting #caregivers is, again as you point out, not only inhumane but irrational.

Hours and days I’ve wanted a better system to handle my son’s main daily meds, PRN and OTC meds and all the pill keepers and main accessory health products. Finally I found heavy clear acrylic drawers in cases of two. Literally halved the space it all took on the counter!

Repurposed 3 plastic bins and the ammo box we’d used for years. It’s a small thing but many moments of pleasure to have in otherwise serious days.

My mom took a fall and I've been with her and Dad in the hospital for the past 2 days. The emergency room was so full, they put patients in the hallway. Stretchers with sick people everywhere.

We got the boot after a Careflight came in, and enjoyed being on the corner in a busy hallway between 2 main entrances, one being the ambulance entry. So relax.

She's finally in a very nice room and recouperating. I'm supposed to be working, but called in sick again. I just can't.

It became tougher by the day as I had to cope w my mother’s mood swings alongside her failing health .. none of the medical professionals asked if I was coping all right. "Imagine a future with home care and elder care so seniors and people living with disabilities can stay in their homes and family caregivers get paid what they deserve!" From #Biden's #SOTU

So glad he is going back to and ready to fight again for this part of the #InflationReductionAct -- support for #caregivers -- that unfortunately (and cruelly) didn't pass.

My #memoir -- Finding the Right Words -- which I wrote with #UCSF #neurologist Dr. Bruce Miller, will be the departure point for the discussion, which will lay the groundwork for a supportive conversation about #caregiving, #grief, #love, and #dementia.
