@davidho Here's an enhancement: setting up bike corrals with ebike charging capabilities by streetlight poles.
In urban environments with multistory apartments, storing a bike above the ground floor is a challenge for many; a 50+ lb/23+ kg ebike even more of a challenge. Curbside storage and charging would enable cycling for many. And the total demand is much less than EV charging...
In 2023, word was it would be the last production season of the Surly Big Dummy (non-electric) cargo bike. It's still for sale today. https://surlybikes.com/bikes/big_dummy But they have made some changes that not everyone is happy with, including using a single chain ring up front and removing the mount points for a centerstand like the one that Xtracycle made for it originally.
@enobacon I'll give an example: Our Mundo with a Bafang kit skips above 4th gear, but only under the load of the motor, not human pedaling. I've swapped out about everything in the system, and had 2 or 3 mechanics look at, but the loads aren't visible in a bike stand, so it's hard to repro for them.
And, of course, warranty doesn't cover the combination.
Other kits just outright broke while riding, sometimes in traffic.
User error, sure.
I'm glad #ebike kits exist, but they are not for me.
Is there a calculator to let people calculate actual cost per mile to drive a given car, accounting for actual purchase price, insurance, gas prices, parking costs, and length of time one has owned car? Trying to see just how much I’m saving with an ebike. #bike#cycling#biketooter#ebike#seabikes#cars@TheWarOnCars@seabikeblog
My general stamina is far better than that of my wrists when I cycle. Any tips or postures you use to help with wrist strain while biking? I could go a lot further if I could reduce wrist strain.
I wish my #eBike had a blinky charge light on the bike, not on the power brick down on the floor, which is often obscured from sight.
Apparently, the charging brick came unplugged several days ago, and, while I’ve been dutifully plugging my bike into the charger every time I ride it, it hasn’t actually been charging.
That resulted in the inevitable outcome today while I was out on my ride.
