Or 🙏🏼/😊 to show thanks for somebody bringing something to my attention (like: link to article or image or whatever, then 🙏🏼/☺️ and the person’s name or tag

If you want something less smiley (wait, why use ? 😹)

The emotion ones work to at least indicate gratitude 🙏🏼 or appreciation for intelligence 🤓 (stereotype, but hey, I wear glasses)

The other ones may require explanation, so an indicator of a footnote might require a footnote?

I find the least used emojis almost as interesting as the most used ones

So stopped accepting new flags ☠️

And put a hold on new emoji proposals untill 2024

They may be re-examining the proposal process to encourage less “useless” , and more ones people will want? 🤷🏻‍♂️

I just realized that has functionality using some text within colons :grinning_face_with_sweat: ... not that one!? 😲 Oh well... I guess I'll keep using my text replacer for emojis 😅

↑ that one is just ##hehe for me, using espanso. Works great on Linux or Windows and, reportedly, on macOS, too.

I'm just using the web-based Mastodon client.

    5 years ago I was working with a team & got used to putting emojis in console log messages.

    Hi 👋

    I'm looking for how to turn off animated emojis (emoji?)

    On the one hand, they are cute and fun. But on the other hand they are a distraction.

    I don't want others to stop using these! I just want to stop the animation that's shown on my screen because I have limited mental energy.

    Is that possible? I'm using the web interface and none of the options I've tried (see image) have helped.

    Each server on here has its own custom emoji, which can be still images like :cate: or animations like :rickroll:

    To access your server's custom emoji on your phone, use the emoji button within your app (but not the keyboard emoji button, that's just for normal emoji).

    If you're on the website, all the emoji are on main emoji picker 😂

    If you want a specific custom emoji on your server, ask your server's admin. They can be any PNG or GIF file as long as the size is under 256kb.

    Emoji Passwords and BitWarden

    Let me start by saying that Emoji Passwords are probably a really daft idea.

    I want to use emoji in my passwords. They're easy to type on a mobile keyboard, easy to remember, and a lot more fun than boring ASCII characters.
