#VisibleMending is not only for #clothes. This #colourful #handbag with abstract roses helped me against dark winter days. Suddenly I discovered this terrible hole and decided to mend it. It was not easy to find the fabric (more in the Alt texts) but I saved my handbag! 😊 And now it's a unique piece of individual design! @visiblemending @sewing

The back side of the patch shows that I reinforced the rose fabric with jeans fabric. The seam serging is pinned in place.
Photo of the design check. It shows the hole (made by a mouse) and the fabric patch. As the design is very wild and abstract, I tried to work on the topic "roses" and stay in the same colour shades. But the patch shows 4 very realistic, identic roses in a geometric pattern - as a contrast.
The handbag is repaired. The square fabric patch closed the hole and is visible. But its colours are the same red and green shades as on the handbag.

🧵 1/ My new #VisibleMending project: This linen-yarn T-shirt is a memento of my dog, who once got stuck at the bottom with his claw and tore a hole. It's darned in the shape of a yellow beetle. In our Sunday animations in the #culturalHeritage centre, I finished my #visibleMending project: a #secondHand jacket with a completely scuffed collar. For a better look I fixed 2 more patches. All people were very curious. Then the reactions:

The collar in detail. Because the collar ends were different lengths, it was difficult to find symmetry. I started symmetrically at the centre back and then used different motifs on the left (flowers) and right (chicken) to conceal it.

For contrast, I choose a chicken print from the Provence, and for harmony, more patches. It's nearly ready. Problem: the remaining collar tips are unequal. 1/2 Tomorrow our embroidery club is meeting again and I'm utterly empty of ideas for new art.
