I've been slowly working on the cat quilt. Top-stitching one little bit or two, pulling the threads to the reverse and finishing them. Put on the binding but didn't take the basting threads off yet. This variegated thread I had perfectly matches! Mom has seen it and likes how it looks and it looks less trash to me, so that's good. Still very hard to get decent photos of.
Domestic bliss at #LikaLodge : It’s #raining. I made a bed for the #Dog. #Bike is here too, covered a bit. #Fireplace & #tea. This morning I had breakfast at sunrise, under #Lipa / #Linden . Earlier I made a room-divider from a #patchwork curtain I got at #DeGrowth conference last year. Memories & fantasies… plus enjoying the moment!

In our Sunday animations in the #culturalHeritage centre, I finished my #visibleMending project: a #secondHand jacket with a completely scuffed collar. For a better look I fixed 2 more patches. All people were very curious. Then the reactions:

For contrast, I choose a chicken print from the Provence, and for harmony, more patches. It's nearly ready. Problem: the remaining collar tips are unequal. I decided to applicate different motives on them to conceal it. @visiblemending@sewing
Heute gewinnt die Tochter zum ersten Mal #Patchwork und zwar recht deutlich. Irgendwie habe ich zu viel gepuzzelt, um den 7er-Bonus zu erreichen und dabei die Knöpfe sträflich vernachlässigt. Ohne Einkommen läuft es dann halt nicht mehr so gut. The front took way longer than anticipated. Thank goodness bargello patchwork comes together so quickly. I really like the result though, and I'm tempted to try some other kinds of knotwork patterns in the future.
Just finished reading this book last night, but am now turning back to re-read a few sections. Clare Hunter writes wonderfully well and is passionate and very knowledgeable about her subject. I finished the book inspired by the stories she tells, with a list of things to find out more about, and with more than a few project ideas floating around in my head.
