Today the Colarusso’s went to The Butterfly Place armed with sketchbooks. They suggest you dress like a flower (bright colors et al.) in hopes that the butterflies might land on you. 10yo drew some flowers, and one landed on his hand #FTW! I sketched a butterfly. #butterflies#sketch
Pour info, je me sert de #DeltaChat avec ma #Zaclys depuis quelques jours et ça fonctionne bien !
Le débat #WhatsApp#Signal#Olvid se termine : vive une messagerie décentralisée et chiffrée ! DeltaChat #FTW !
Permeable sidewalks #FTW! It’s drenching rain in #WestSeattle this morning and look at the difference between these two surfaces. Better for walking and better for the water table!
Are they as durable as regular sidewalks? NYC is one of the places where people wear the sidewalks out with their feet sometimes before the ice and weather get to it.
@loke@KevinFreitas Well they permit water infiltration into groundwater so that can counter subsidence and replenish groundwater in an impermeable surface situation. That can be useful if your locality depends on groundwater for municipal water supply.
As for climate specific results from this? Either the groundwater replenishment for resilience or these permeable materials create less or no CO2 compared to concrete or need no hydrocarbons like asphault. But I do not know how they are made.
