Do they make cable relaxer?

,
Dumb question from a gear n00b:
Why are bass amps so many more than guitar amps?
The dinky head I ordered says 200 watts.
The Orange micro terror bass lunchbox says 500 (the guitar version, just 20).
Is there a good place to read about this? A quick search didn't help me.

Really hate tech sometimes. Was listening to a tune I've been working on for the past couple of weeks yesterday & suddenly the speakers cut out. After doing a number tests rearranging cables I've determined that outputs 1 & 2 on the Apogee Symphony are no longer functional. Have to take it in now for a warranty repair, which is likely to take weeks. Really frustrated, & thinking that after all the issues I've had the past year I've chosen the wrong hobby.

, what's a good, cheap, portable bass head for my my homemade 1x10 cab?
My heavy Peavey guitar amp sounds good. My micro terror guitar amp, meh.

Replacing the home stereo woofer with an actual bass speaker in my home-made cabinet required some jiggering (the new one is smaller).
I'm looking forward to trying it out!

My Two Notes Torpedo Captor X has always had a strange fuzzy kind of distortion when notes are played very softly/quietly. Two Notes thinks it’s faulty but it’s a 3+ week turnaround to repair and I’m not 100% sure it isn’t a design flaw. Found a deal on a used UA Ox Box and have ordered that to compare. Will be interesting.

Hello ! I’m thinking about some new headphones. I have Sony mdr 7506’s and usually use Tonebooster’s Morphit with them but these have caught my eye since the orange ones. Any thoughts?

Push push pots are on the way. Rather than buy $300 pickups, I plan to stuff then through the Epi 's F hole (uh…heh) and coil split/phase switch the neck, and make the bridge series/parallel.
Made a diagram in a morning moment of clarity.
Using small pots, for my sanity.

I just bought an expensive piece of cheap black plastic. Why?!? Because it's an EWI!! And it's actually pretty cool!

Join me as I play it for the first time and react to its...strangeness. And coolness. But mostly strangeness.

I’ve officially joined a new music project! We had our second practice last night, and it was fantastic. We all really click, and we’re all into a more energetic, pop-adjacent rock style of song writing.

Lineup is one lead guitarist, me and another guy trading off on bass and rhythm (I’m doing mostly bass though, which I kinda love), and an electric cellist.

Yep! We’ve got a guy on an electric cello playing into a Headrush Gigboard. It’s amazing.

This post has gear now. So , hello

I’d like to try my hand at David Gilmour style steel guitar. I’m cheap though, especially for one trick ponies.

Any suggestions?

I’ve tried the Gretch 5700, did not like.

The collection. Seven electrics including two partscasters. Two DIY amps, one Marshall one Fender style. A dozen DIY pedal clones. Amp switcher, cab sim/load box, reverb/delay post effect.

, I have a wiring question.
I want my Epi Dot 335 to sound brighter, and before doing the obvious - $250 for PAF pickups - I may add three push-push switches to split the neck, phase-reverse the neck, and put the bridge coils in series/parallel, then also give it a 50s style tone circuit.
That should all still work if I upgrade the pickups later.
I'm scared of the F holes, though. I've watched a video or two, and I fished the output jack through once.
Thoughts?

New best friends: I paired up the Blooper with the new Hexe Revolver IV. They are kind of similar, but so far I seem to use the Blooper more for longer rhythmic loops and the Revolver more for granular stuff and sound effects.

Both are pretty deep, but the Revolver requires a lot more learning. All knobs have different functions on different sections of their range, and remembering what is where takes some time. But today's session was lots of fun. Should have recorded...

Today I traded my 2013 black Squier Vintage Modified Telecaster Custom for a 2013 black Squier Vintage Modified Cabronita Telecaster with factory installed licenced Bigsby. Kind of a rare animal. Has a Fender Fideli'Tron humbucker neck pickup and standard Tele single coil in the bridge. Pretty good tuning stability with the Bigsby so far. Neck pickup has a Gretsch Filtertron vibe. Pics are my old Tele Custom and the new Cabronita.

My friend that I bought a bunch of equipment off of is itching to swap things out again. He's been trying to convince me to buy a Sequential Pro 3 to swap him for his Prophet Rev2.

I'd be lying if I said I wasn't tempted. The Rev2 is a pretty great instrument, and the keybed on it is so nice. But I really don't have room for it, and I really don't need to be spending more money on yet another synth to collect dust with the rest of them.

What a problem to have. 😆

I just want to throw out there again that if you want a straightforward keyboard that feels like a baby grand (keys wise for strength training the fingers) get a Yamaha P-45. It’s awesome and simple.

New vid on my YouTube channel:

How do you know when you messed up enough that you should try again?!? In this video I walk you through a recorded Yamaha CS-15 bass part that I loved...then hated. Spoiler alert: I decide to re-record the part, and show you why it was worth the time.

Hey friends, when I switched servers I lost my short list of folks who'd be up for giving feedback on music works in progress. Mix feedback, vibe checks, that kind of thing.

So... who'd be up for that? Maybe we could have a hashtag? or or ???

Tagging since I know some of you'd be into this too.

Somehow I feel like this song really epitomizes 2023 for me. So many times it felt like "you can check out anytime you like but you can never leave" was exactly what I was going through. Looking forward to a much better 2024, happy new year everyone. Really looking forward to some more great discussions this year.

Ok, I’ve finished my Ab / C minor instrumental and posted to Bandcamp. It really feels like Eb major to me now. There is one open string in the key, I discovered, and worked that in. Otherwise Strymon Volante again for the guitar tracks with the bass, drums and piano tracks done in GarageBand. This was loads of fun to create and a wonderful escape.
