This happened more than once and Seldowitz didn't have any fear of the police either.

The authorities in the northern #Indian state of Uttar Pradesh have banned #Halal labels on some food items, incl dairy products, saying they are in breach of existing legislation. Officials said the labelling had created confusion among customers -- but it will still be allowed on food items for export. Uttar Pradesh is ruled by the Hindu-nationalist #BJP, but it's home to nearly 40 million Muslims -- around a fifth of the population.
This comes a day after police in Lucknow booked a company and three organisations for providing “illegal halal certificates” to retail products sold in the state.
There’s literally no point in your #meat being #organic and supposedly #CrueltyFree if the poor animal was bludgeoned and electrocuted to death. How in the hell can non-Halal slaughtered meat still have an #SPCA endorsement on it?!? It’s fucking barbaric how these animals are killed. If folks really cared, but still wanted to eat meat (like I do), they’d demand that ALL (non-pork) meat be either #halal or #kosher slaughter. It’s about as humane as it can get.
