Question for the people! -- What platforms on the Fediverse offer the best content discovery capabilities? Services like Flipboard and Threads are integrated into the Fediverse now, we should be getting a lot of contents, but when I search for specific topics, the results are still really sparse. #fediverse#lemmy#mastodon#threads#flipboard
@chnynf Hello! We haven't yet federated all our user accounts so you won't be able to find all Flipboard publishers' or creators'/curators' content in the fediverse. However, here is a blogpost about publisher federation and a Google sheet with a list of federated curators and the topics they cover. Some of them will use hashtags in their captions when they flip into their Magazines, which means you should be able to discover their content here (depending on how well search is working!). Otherwise if you follow individual curators'/creators'/publishers' Magazines (topical feeds) you'll get all their content on that subject. You can also follow our new account, @FlipboardMagazines for frequent Magazine recommendations, or for fantastic non-Flipboard recommendations, there's @FediTips.
@ayo Top-level Lemmy posts are ActivityPub Page objects, but Mastodon only understands Note and Article objects. It's a strange decision, because it means Mastodon can see and reply to Lemmy comments, but not the top-level posts.
You are at a bar, someone came up to you and tapped you on the shoulder and whispered in your ear “you shall receive this ability” of which what would you choose you would have forever? I would personally go with talk to animals.

Here's Gene Simmons Performing Motörhead's 'Ace of Spades': The Demon Pays Tribute to Lemmy
On 'Ace of Spades,' Gene Simmons gave vocal duties to drummer Brian Tichy while he focused on replicating Lemmy's incredible style on the bass guitar.
What is the main shortcoming of ActivityPub ?
ActivityPub wants to make it possible to create decentralized apps. But to post videos, you need an account on a PeerTube instance. And to post images, you need an account on a PixelFed instance. You must thus handle multiple accounts, with their profile, list of followers, etc.
How does ActivityPods solve this shortcoming ?
With ActivityPods, you have only one profile, one outbox, one inbox and one list of followers - all in a single place. Applications connect to your Pod to post activities, read the inbox and fetch data. And of course they can connect to any existing fediverse application !
Allez vois la crate en question, voir un badge "made with freedom from porn"
So I wanted to post a question about a #math problem, and I wanted to reach the widest possible math community on the #Fediverse. Aside from using the correct tag, my first thought was to find a #Lemmy or #kbin community/magazine to cc in the post. And … there isn't one. There's many. Just from a quick search I found https://lemmy.ml/c/mathematics https://lemmy.ml/c/math https://kbin.social/m/math
so now the question becomes … should I cross post to all of them? Or is that poor form?
I'm getting the impression that the kbin magazine would automatically include the post in the “microblog” section if properly tagged, which is actually one of the nice features of kbin, so maybe I can skip that one at least …
Oh, apparently my post was killed, I got a notification:
Your post https://programming.dev/post/13016987 has been removed as you do not have enough activity on your account to create image posts in that community
