Photography looking into the dark tunnel as trains arrive & depart Wapping London Overground Station. I love how the light paints the track & the walls.
Note: taken with a zoom lens, no flash & safely behind the yellow line towards the middle of the platform.
Black and white photography of a commuter walking through the tunnels of the Elizabeth line. I love how the vastness of the architecture and the small details create a different feel to the London Underground.
I love the view at the end of the slimline platform at Clapham Common London Underground Station. This composite shot captures a train arriving & departing in a symmetrical configuration. I love the dramatic lines!
Black & white puddle photography of a train departing Pontoon Dock Docklands Light Railway station. I love the sci fi design of the curved platform canopy covers.
The DLR is my favorite so I'm quite bias at judging it! 😀
Photography of gymnast Anna at Bank London Underground station, posing beneath the red greathead shield which was used during the tunnelling of the original Waterloo & City Line in 1898. I love how this easy to miss historic structure remains on display like a bonus museum piece.
I was interviewed by Transport for London in their brand new podcast which launches today. Here's a photo I took of Tim Dunn who met me at one of my favourite Underground stations to talk about the Tube Mapper Photography project.
My second photo of the piano key floor tiles on the Bakerloo line platform at Waterloo London Underground station. I was pleased to finally capture some fun photography of this overlooked feature.
I had a lot of fun recreating this old 1944 poster by Fougasse. I needed Charles Holden architecture with uplighters, so Northern line towards Morden. Geoff Marshall is the 'learner' with a trilby hat & Colliers Wood best matched Kenneth Bird's poster!
A Popular View of the City
I love the view looking towards the city from Poplar Docklands Light Railway station. Taken at sunset as a DLR train arrives at the station.
I love discovering the beautiful Spiral staircases at London Underground Stations. These can be usually be found at fire exits, but are also occasionally hidden elsewhere in the station. I love the blue & white tiles at Camden Town Tube Station.
Photography of a Docklands Light Railway train exiting the tunnel at Cutty Sark (for Maritime Greenwich) Station. I love how the light paints the darkness exposing hidden details.
Note: Taken from behind the yellow line, at the other end of the platform with a zoom lens
