I've been looking for Brave Dwarves, the first game from 2001, for a while. Now I've finally got it!
But the game has problems. Using DXWnd, I seem to be getting close to a solution with time stretching, but it's not really playable. If I stop pressing the keyboard, the game timer seems to stop. Timer, Input? what could be the problem? Thanks in advance!
The second episode called "Magic Forest " was epic to finish! Once all the keys needed to open the door and exit the level had been obtained, it was time to climb back up to the top of the map (very far). A real obstacle course, as some enemies resurrect and there are far fewer life potions.
Oh, and a final boss each episode!! Tough! Episode endings that have to be earned!!
I'm not sure we called it "video games" when we put in a few coins to play Space Invaders, Galaga or Galaxian when arcade terminals first came on the market. I think the term hadn't yet been "democratized". Late 70s, early 80s. My memories are hazy..
I also remember those arcade terminals where you sat down to play as if on a glass coffee table. You'd put your Coke on the glass.. :0)
