An excellent indie #Roguelike ( Thanks @jake4480 ) that runs on current machines (Windows, Linux, MacOS, & HTML5). Frankly, very good! Good surprise! I would have liked it to be compatible with older machines, but no. Two quality PDF manuals. On my list of favorite Roguelikes! If you like this kind of game: recommended! :0)

Trying out GodoRogue tonight. It's great! You can use the keyboard commands or mouse directly to different locations, how you can see in the screenshot - the yellow line. And you can play this one in-browser. It was made in HTML5!

I want to try to connect a SCSI Hard Drive to an AKAI Professional DSP 16.

Here are the connectors (photos). What kind of specific SCSI cable do I need? How to do it? I'm really not an SCSI expert. I'm a little confused..

  • AKAI: x 1, High-pitch 50-pin for external Harddisk connection
  • Hard Drive: HP 73 GB Wide ULTRA 320 SCSI - 80 PIN

For once, Discord actually proved useful for something! I checked the Apogee server for news on the Cosmo's Cosmic Adventure HD remaster that's coming soon (I'm a HUGE Cosmo's fan and I'm BEYOND excited for this remaster) and I found out that one of my favorite YouTube channels, DOSgamert (https://www.youtube.com/@Dosgamert - if you're into old PC/DOS games, seriously, check out his channel), did a livestream of a little bit of the upcoming Cosmo's HD beta a few days ago!

Full of surprises! I get to this spot & see the ambush coming. I think I've already killed over fifty of them & they're still coming in waves. Fortunately, I'm in a good position. If I'd walked into that room, it would have been certain death! I've gone up 4 levels since the fighting started.

Is something generating them?

I'm kinda obsessed with Rogue and roguelike games in general (and weird monsters). I was reading this great article from 2016 about their history that I boosted yesterday (thanks to @WoodooProd for alerting me to it).

As I read and poked around the web to check out these early roguelikes, I loved these two screens from a SUPER early roguelike (Pedit5, from 1975).

The whole history of video games is fascinating. Clearly! In the case of Roguelikes and RPGs, which remain my favorite genre, it's a real pleasure to discover a little more each time, and to be able to put things back in their proper order. And it always opens up other perspectives to discover about other things, other games, other juicy details, etc..

The fact that we can share so simply and amicably here on Mastodon is a blessing. Also. :0)
