Officials in Haiti are scrambling to secure the National Palace in Port-au-Prince for tomorrow, where members of a transitional council tasked with selecting a new prime minister are demanding to be sworn in. The insistence the ceremony take place at the palace is seen as an attempt by the government to demonstrate its control over a city still plagued by violence, and gangs have vowed to disrupt the proceedings.
