After weeks (months?) of neglecting guix-devel email and/or taking vacations, I learn that something unbelievable happened: all of #TeX Live has been imported in #Guix, as 4K+ individual packages, including “collections” and “schemes” (≅ meta-packages): https://guix.gnu.org/manual/devel/en/html_node/Using-TeX-and-LaTeX.html

Ihr dürft auch gerne mit beliebigen Fragen vorbeikommen und wir gucken wie wir weiterhelfen können.
Ich bin auf der Suche nach einer guten mechanischen #Tastatur mit #Mac-Layout, bevorzugt mit Cherry-Switches.
Aktuell habe ich eine Keychron K8, bei der aber nach knapp 2 Jahren die ersten Switches (Gateron) den Geist aufgeben. Ich könnte die zwar tauschen, aber das wird dann auf Dauer zu teuer. :blobcateyes:
Für Tipps und Empfehlungen bin ich dankbar, für einen Retröt sowieso :)

So... can anyone recommend me a #LaTeX editor for Android?
It doesn't actually need to compile the files. But I do want to be able to edit the .tex files which I save on Google Drive, and have the editor display the markup correctly.
#Quickedit has syntax highlighting for TeX files and has shortcut buttons for nearly all special characters.
I never missed something for editing.
I never used #LaTeX and #TeX itself on a mobile device, though.
Moonlander, kinesis, ergodox, so many options for split keyboards - but not a single one with a built in trackpoint! Surely there must be a market for it... Also wenn ich #TeX und #LaTeX von Grund auf verstehen will, dann komme ich wohl um das Buch von Donald Knuth "The TEXbook" nicht drum herum oder? 🤔
Das Spannende an dem Buch ist aktuell, dass auf den ersten Seiten keine Übungen am Programm kommen, sondern man grundsätzliche Dinge über Typografie lernt. 😅
Ein völlig anderer Ansatz, der mir gut gefällt. Alles erstmal ohne PC.

Another reason to hate #Microsoft. I took data from a colleague’s #Powerpoint slide to put into a #LaTeX document. When I processed my file I kept getting errors and I couldn’t see anything with #Emacs that was wrong with the file. It turns out that the original file contained a #zero-width #Unicode character which I couldn’t see! The solution was to use od -c | less to spot anything untoward in my #TeX source #TextFile.
PS: There are 𝘮𝘢𝘯𝘺 reasons to offer well-formatted HTML alongside PDF, or to stop PDF-only publishing. Accessibility is first, followed closely by making work friendly to mobile users, users with low bandwidth, and users who need to text-mine, cut/paste, or use machine translation.
