I stopped to visit with my brother at the volunteer fire station today and discovered they have bike rack with tools (including an actual JIS #2 screwdriver!) available all year long.
Another Fat bike ride!
I rigged up the phone w/“action" mode to record video and it comes out pretty stable, but would probably be better in landscape (not possible with this mount). Trails were mostly frozen dirt, but still some "ice highways" scattered around waiting to test your studs and skills. That being said, we have hot weather in forecast, I'm guessing last fat bike ride unless there's a surprise Winter storm or two.
Shout-out to the City of #MadisonWI for using the spell of warm weather* to sweep the SW Bike Path. It had a lot of sand and dirt accumulated from the previous snow event, and now it's all nice and clean!
At the top of the hill on the way home tonight there was a sort of reverse sunset lighting up the eastern horizon. High eastern clouds are often lit by the sunset but I have never seen the whole horizon glowing with this kind of color.
Yesterday, I had the privilege & thrill of visiting the Edmonton International Airport tower and the Nav Canada control centre, in my capacity as a member of Standing Senate Committee on Transportation and Communications. It was a fascinating visit, and one that gave me so much insight into this aspect of our aviation sector. #Edmonton#yeg#EIA#NavCanada#Canada#SenateofCanada#TRCM#AirTrafficControl#Alberta
@Paulatics just to be clear, I'm not trying to be rhetorical or antagonistic. I'm genuinely puzzled.
Bicycles are so obviously the personal vehicle of the future; we make steel & aluminum & batteries in Canada, we have a history of bike design & building; we could have a bike/trike industry here (we could lead the world on #winterbiking). But our MPs seem oblivious (even Steven Guilbeault🤯).
Is it b/c the auto lobby is too rich? Or policy ppl still equate bikes with recreation? #biketooter
