Gibt’s ein Stück Musik härterer Bauart, bei dem euch regelmäßig die Tränen kommen? Sei es, weil eine Erinnerung damit verknüpft ist, der Text was in euch auslöst oder die Instrumentierung euch die Füße wegzieht.
Nicht das beste Beispiel meinerseits, aber Take This Life haut bei mir ganz schön rein, seitdem ich mich dazu mal ganz für mich selbst auf dem WOA von einem kurz vorher gestorbenen Freund verabschiedet habe.

@kaffeeringe „Aussetzen“ finde ich vom Beiklang her immer irgendwie gemein, wie so ein Welpe an der Autobahnraststätte. Der arme Zugteil 😢

Ansonsten weiß ich noch nicht, ob ich es beruhigend finden soll oder nicht, dass der Pendelverkehr nach Hamburg im nördlichen Nachbarland genauso mies läuft wie im südlichen.

The recent at 23andme means that a lot of people suddenly lost the ability to:

  • do DNA/RNA based biometric &
  • have about health info (think genetic disorders)
  • be anonymous in terms of DNA-person match (which means ethically working researchers can not include their data in studies, e.g. GWAS etc.)

Sensitive data matters. Biodata is one of the most sensitive types of data you can think of. My advice: Don't use it as a first auth factor. And definitely not as a sole key for crypto.

Oh boy, my TV‘s software has really gone bonkers. Nothing works correctly anymore, I guess it’s time to airgap it from the network and set up some kind of media center. I’ve got a fresh Raspberry Pi 4, any software recommendations? Requirements are Kodi & YouTube, but also Netflix and Prime Video, and I’d prefer to operate it with the TV remote so my significant other doesn’t have to pull out the wireless keyboard.

Get a decent app and Mastodon is not complex

And when the haters come - and they will come! - is the design of a network ready to cope with that? Mastodon, with some caveats is. Bluesky, we don't know.

@jon According to Doctorows "enshittification", Bluesky has just begun its first phase. This is where platforms try to appeal to people, only to wall in their garden in the next phase and lock in the previously caught users, so they can’t easily switch once the platform cranks the shit-dial after that to maximise profits.
That’s not set in stone, but why would BS be any different in this regard than any other commercial social network?
Mastodon otoh is non commercial, that’s the main difference.
