I got the most wonderful surprise in the mail - vintage cat postcards from a generous bluesky follower in Sweden! They even thoughtfully wrote out translations for the writing on the back. 🥰 I am so excited and grateful!

Look at this beauty. ❤️ A stained glass piece by my friend Emily, inspired by the medieval Old Gaelic poem, Pangur Bán. It was by a monk who would work tirelessly at his studies as his cat, Pangur Bán, faithfully hunted mice. She doesn't have a website for her work yet but if you are on Bluesky you can follow her there, @stonkers.bsky.social.

An instagram follower very kindly and generously contacted me because her grandfather passed away recently and she was able to see his photo albums - there were lots of cats! She asked if I wanted to see and of courses I said yes. This is her grandmother and she think it dates to around 1960.

I love it when I can find sets of photos showing the special relationship between a human and their cat. This is a new set I just got today, ca. 1950s.

Black and white photo of the same cat and boy from the previous photograph. This time the cat is sitting on the edge of a table and the boy is standing next to it, his head leaning affectionately into the cat's side.

This photo was sold to me as being “ca. 1960s” but it’s definitely not. Gorgeous cat and picture but I could guess by the colors and the detail that it was 1980s, and confirmed when I got it with the watermark on the back. It was only used by Kodak on their Ektacolor papers between 1985 - 1989. 🤷🏻‍♀️
